Something is still
guarding it.
The moon has a cleanup crew, an atmosphere of nothing, and a server full of people who want what you are carrying. In roughly that order of politeness.

Scrapers.
Autonomous hunter-killer saucers that patrol the surface, close on anyone standing in the open, and take station 42 metres directly overhead — because their turret only points down. They never run out of ammunition. They do run hot.
The Scraper’s turret only points down. An overhang, a wreck or a doorway is worth more than any wall.
After 20 rounds it spends 20 seconds circling while the gun recovers. That is when you move — or shoot back.
It spots anyone standing clear within 190 metres. Crater rims and ridgelines are where it finds you.
700 hull. About 30 rounds of ARC-7. Its wreck is yours to strip.

Everyone else wants what you are carrying.
Fight hard. Play fair.
Every server is shared. The operative at the portal ahead of you might be a squad, a stranger who would rather not fight, or someone who has been waiting there for an hour for exactly you.
Whoever wins a fight can loot what the loser carried. Disconnecting mid-fight counts as dying, so there is no escape hatch but the real ones.
The moon does not need to aim.
Your suit reservoir is all the air there is. When it runs out, so does the run.
Sprinting and the jet pack burn oxygen faster. Moving fast is borrowing time.
Damage to the suit opens leaks that drain oxygen on top of breathing. Patch it or hurry.
Some levels — the Lava Forge above all — eat suit integrity just for standing in them.
Bring friends. Or don't.
