Questions before
the drop.

Straight answers about what Selentara is, how a run works, and what happens when it goes wrong.

The basics

The basics

What is Selentara?

An open-world exploration shooter set on an artificial moon of the same name. You deploy onto its surface, hunt for the portals that lead inside, explore the 96 levels stacked within it, and extract with what you find — while every other player on the server tries to do the same.

How do I play?

Selentara runs in your web browser — there is nothing to install. Make an account in the Control Center, pick an operative, and deploy.

What do I need to run it?

A desktop browser with WebGPU — current Chrome, Edge or Firefox, or Safari 26 and later — a keyboard and mouse or a controller, and a reasonably modern graphics card. The website and the Control Center work on any browser.

Is it multiplayer?

Always. Every deployment is onto a shared, live server. There is no offline mode.

Runs & loss

Runs & loss

What happens when I die?

The kit you deployed with and everything you picked up is lost — and can be looted by whoever killed you. You keep the experience you earned for the time you spent in the field. See The Run.

Can I leave a run safely?

Yes — withdraw. It takes 15 seconds, during which you are still in the world and still killable, and a hit cancels it. Your kit comes home; your haul does not. To keep the haul, reach an extraction pad.

What if I just disconnect?

If you have taken a hit in the last 30 seconds, a disconnect counts as dying. Outside combat, it is not. You cannot log out of a firefight.

How long is a run?

As long as your oxygen lasts — about 11 minutes on a full reservoir if you take it easy, and less if you sprint, jet, or take damage to the suit. O₂ canisters top it up.

The world

The world

How big is the moon?

8 km in radius, 804 km² of surface, with 96 inner levels stacked 160 metres apart through the hollow inside. The widest are sixteen kilometres across. See Selentara.

How do I get inside?

Find a portal. They are hidden in the craters, unmarked, and each opens onto one inner level. From there, transporters beam you between levels — including ones no portal reaches. See The Way In.

Is there PvE?

Yes. Autonomous Scrapers hunt the surface, and the levels have hazards of their own. But the most dangerous thing on any server is another operative. See Threats.

Account & fair play

Can admins give me items?

No. Nobody — staff included — can grant items or currency. Everything in your vault was found, bought or extracted in the game.

Where do I hear about updates?

In Field Notes, or leave your address in the sign-up at the bottom of any page.
